Sustainable Transport & Travel Plans

We work with local authorities and government departments to promote workable and sustainable transport strategies in both urban and rural settings. We look to increase sustainable transport options by identifying potential strategies and solutions based on the evidence on how people travel, where and why, and what would change their pattern of behaviour.

We have taken a leading role in supporting travel planning nationally and locally.

Recent and current projects include:
The preparation of the national guidance on travel plans and the planning system, ‘Good Practice Guidelines: Delivering travel plans through the planning system’ – DfT/CLG – http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/sustainable/travelplans/tpp/

The preparation of the national best practice guidance on residential travel plans, ‘Making residential travel plans work: guidelines for new development’ – DfT – http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/sustainable/travelplans/rpt/
